Contemporary dating can be challenging for the initiator, especially when the rules keep changing. This workshop was created to allow men* to experience consent as a liberating and empowering tool in dating, rather than as a limiting, mystifying and dejecting transaction.
As Somatica Intimacy and Relationship coaches, we've been working with many male clients who have internalized the message that their desires and needs are shameful, burdensome and un-welcome.
In this context, asking for consent might feel as yet another blaming and belittling experience, rather than an empowering one.
The reality is that consent is a co-creation and it is just as important to a man as it is to a woman, in order to feel safe and free to play.
In this fun, interactive workshop, you'll learn how to navigate consent in a joyful and empowering way.
You'll also learn:
-
Practical skills for what to say and do to establish consent.
-
How to overcome the blocks, shame, and difficulty of contemporary dating
-
How to accept and process the many feelings that come up when approaching sex and dating.
-
How to handle rejection and disappointment.
-
How to ask for what you want while staying connected to your erotic energy.
About Us
River and Margherita are trained and certified Intimacy and Relationship coaches who met while studying at the Somatica Institute of San Francisco and fell in love with each other coaching style and wisdom. Together they share a studio in West Berkeley where they organize workshops and fun, sensual events.
Margherita:
"In my practice I love to help my clients fall in love with themselves by overcoming shame and uncovering all the blocks that stand between them and their most empowered and erotic selves. I'm excited to co-create this workshop and to allow others to experience the empowering and playful beauty of consent."
